On Saturday, I didn't know how to leave. I asked her if I should go, and she said it was OK to stay, that I could stay as long as I wanted. I just said OK. But then one of the staff members was starting a sing-a-long and my mom wanted to take part in it. She went over to participate and I just kissed her on the cheek and let her go. I asked one of the PCAs if I should just leave and she said I could do whatever I wanted. She said I could go over and say goodbye again, or have my mom walk me to the door (it's a lock down facility with a coded key pad door lock), or I just leave. It's not really be a big deal, she said. The residents seem to accept this place as their home.
